Meeting You At The Gate

Help on release

The ‘Meeting You At The Gate’ service is mainly for candidates who have built a relationship with their mentor or House Host while they are still in prison.

Completing the referral process sixteen weeks before being released is important. It will give us the opportunity to complete the information sharing process, match the candidate to a mentor or transitional home, and time to build a relationship with the person working with them.

The opportunity to plan means we can be available when meeting with the candidate on the day of their release. It’s the first day of a new start and we want to be there to support our candidates from the very beginning.

There are many reasons why a successful candidate may need this support. For one, having someone the candidate recognises to start the next chapter of their life reduces any concerns about where they are going and how they are going to get there. Also, it’s a great way to start their mentorship relationship or transitional placement.
